When leaders avoid hard conversations, the cost
spreads quickly

Difficult issues stay unspoken for too long

Team members become defensive or disengaged

Misalignment slows progress across teams

Managers hesitate to give clear feedback

Most communication problems in a business are not caused by lack of intelligence or goodwill. They happen because issues are left too long, feedback is watered down, people avoid conflict, or leaders say what is easy instead of what is needed. Over time, these patterns quietly erode trust, lower standards and make it harder for teams to work with clarity and momentum.

The Robust Conversations Program gives leaders practical tools to address issues earlier and communicate in a way that is both direct and respectful.

The tools for having robust conversations are genuinely practical — I keep the booklet on my desk and use it. A big shift for me was learning to use ‘I’ in a positive, constructive way, not a negative one.

Vincent Pao, Legrand

The course helped me start with values and become more aware of my own values. I’ve been given tools for having difficult conversations — and I know they’ll be useful.

Jelena Stefanovic, Vela

This course helped me recognise that I have good leaders — and I need to allow them to lead and make mistakes. The accountability tools, plus inoculation and ASERT, are practical frameworks I’m already using and will continue to use.

David Kaplan, Sleep Corp

My key takeaways were the power language, Fight Clean, and inoculation — practical tools I can use in real conversations.

George Pene, Mabey Hire

Inoculation is something I’ve already used in real situations, and it’s been really effective. ‘Above the line / below the line’ is great for self-reflection, and ASERT gives me a clear framework to organise my thoughts.

Tyrone Avellano, GT Insurance

Inoculation was a key takeaway — it helps warm people up to the issue so they don’t feel blamed or attacked, and can actually listen. The ‘I’ messages make it easier to say what needs to be said without blaming.

Nina Katiforis, Mabey Hire
