ARC Group
ARC Group is a respected Australian organisation offering workforce training and support services to help people advance their careers and live more independently. With a strong focus on education, recruitment, and community care, ARC Group has trained thousands and operates over 225 courses annually. In 2015, it expanded its impact by launching Cality Care, providing essential home care services to older Australians and people with disabilities.
The Problem
The Leadership Challenge: Growing Business, Stretched Leadership
With rapid business growth came leadership strain. Cameron Ryan, ARC Group CEO, found himself managing 8–9 direct reports, while also leading an organisation undergoing major expansion. Although Cameron had experienced several coaching programs, none had struck the right chord for embedding lasting change within his team.
His leadership team—talented but overwhelmed—struggled with accountability, confrontation, and team alignment. The prevailing mindset of “not my department, not my problem” was holding the business back during a critical stage of growth.
“We’d just gone through a whole lot of growth as a business and went through a painful period of adjustment because we didn’t have great structures and practices in place for the areas of our business that were growing the most. I just felt that we hadn’t, as a business, supported the development of our leaders.”

The Solution
Executive Coaching with Integrity and Values
Having personally gained valuable insights from his own experience with Integrity and Values’ leadership coaching, Cameron decided it was time to invest in his team. Unlike traditional business coaching, Integrity and Values focuses on behaviours, values, and personal accountability, aligning leadership capability with organisational success.
As Cameron explained, “Other programs helped me run a better business, but Integrity and Values helped me become a better leader. That behavioural focus resonated deeply.”
Working with Jennifer Elliott, CEO of Integrity and Values, ARC Group launched a tailored executive leadership program to shift team dynamics, enhance decision-making, and drive culture change across the business.
Processes and Outcomes
1. Behavioural Coaching with Real Impact
One-on-one coaching and group workshops gave leaders the space—and challenge—they needed to face uncomfortable truths. According to James Kim, Head of Cality Care: “There was nowhere to hide. The sessions were deep, personal, and helped us confront the real issues holding us back.”
2. Breaking Through Leadership Roadblocks
The executive team began identifying behavioural blind spots and committing to shared growth. As Mercina Markou, GTO Manager, explained: “You don’t leave your personal behaviours at home. Integrity and Values helped us see how we show up at work and hold ourselves—and each other—accountable.”
3. Building the Leadership Muscle
The coaching approach helped leaders move beyond surface-level “niceness” to have tough, productive conversations. They developed the strength to give honest feedback, hold each other accountable, and lead with clarity. Jennifer Elliott called this, “Building the leadership muscle and going for the full glass.”
4. Replacing ‘Nice’ with Necessary
One of the most significant shifts came in confronting the team’s reluctance to call out issues. As Cameron shared: “I needed to take off the rose-coloured glasses and call a bad situation for what it was.” With Integrity and Values, leaders learned to have difficult conversations cleanly and effectively—without sacrificing empathy.

The Results
Resilience During Crisis: A True Test of Leadership
In 2020, ARC Group faced unprecedented challenges from bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic. The crisis further exposed gaps in team cohesion and accountability. Some leaders chose to leave the organisation—others stepped up with renewed clarity and purpose.
Integrity and Values stood by ARC Group, continuing coaching and leadership support even when budgets were tight. Their commitment to values-based leadership shone through, reinforcing the trust and credibility of the program.
