All organisations whose people have a clear vision of where they are going are well on their way to success. A vision is necessary to bind the organisation and give people hope. The work that Integrity and Values.com does enables people to have the powerful conversations required to implement the vision. This is achieved when the executive team is functioning in a healthy and productive manner. Once the vision and goal is set, our role is to keep the team honest and focused.

The Ability to Fight Clean

One of the most common problems in executive management is the lack of skills in this area. Some people see fighting as dirty, dangerous and unnecessary. “The ability to fight clean” means the ability to table an issue with a co-worker at the first available opportunity and resolve it productively. There are only two outcomes that come from conflict. They are successful resolution or management of the conflict. Where there is management of conflict an organisation will operate at less than its potential.
A Integrity and Values Leadership Development program gives individuals clear rules and the skills to resolve conflict in a powerful and direct manner.  After a clean fight both parties can walk away without any residual resentment to fuel the next fight and with their dignity in place.

At the start of a program we run our powerful integrity and values profile on the team. This gives you some really valuable bench marking data to begin your team’s journey.
Where the whole team has been assessed it is possible to make statements about the nature of the conversations that are being avoided and the consequent cost to the business. The power of a team Integrity Profile allows the leaders to be honest about their short comings within a supportive framework and to take appropriate actions to correct.

Integrity ProfileUsing the Integrity Profiling System when assessing team dynamics:

Leadership teams need to be able to hold each other Accountable and take Responsibility for the results they produce as a whole.

This 5-person team is characterised by one person to whom the truth is very important, by a second who is ambivalent and by three others where the truth is an optional extra depending on what that truth is, who needs / wants to know and how urgent or important the matter is.

There is one person who is very Responsible and Accountable.  This same person is also the one for whom Truth is extremely important. This person is most likely very unhappy / frustrated working with people who cannot hold themselves responsible.  One member of this group can hold others accountable but will not be held responsible if things don’t go right.  That is to say they can point the finger at the ones who didn’t perform but not be able to see their part in the mess up.

Three members of this team are highly Loyal and will support the company by doing what needs to be done. The other two will look after their own best interests, primarily by doing what it suits them.

Where the Self Reflection score is low people cannot see the impact of their other low scores on the people around them.
 
There is only one person on this team who has the capacity to make their Values and Attitudes evident and present in their relationship with others and with themselves.  For the others on this team there is a wide gap between who they say are and what people see. These individuals are continually frustrated with and by each other.

Unless this team is willing to do some hard yards in developing themselves as leaders the organisation will not be able to function at its best or make the profits that they are looking for.
